If you have radiant heated floors one thing you should know is to never crank them too high. Putting the radiant heated floors on too high could cause problems and make your home way too hot. Not to mention trying to walk on the radiant heated floors if they are too hot can be a hazard as well. One other thing to add is if the radiant heated floors are too hot you could cause a fire in your home. Let’s say your radiant heated floors were too hot and you dropped a piece of paper or something like that on them. It would possibly end up catching fire if sitting there for some minutes and this would result in your house burning down. You wouldn’t want that now would you? I didn’t think so! So if you are getting radiant heated floors or already have radiant heated floors always be sure to not crank the thermostat on the wall too high. Yes they may be powered by hot water pipes, but even that can cause fires if not careful or burn you. If you need more heating than what your radiant heated floors are putting out at a normal thermostat setting go out and buy a portable space heater to help things along. I know that may sound a bit ridiculous, but when the weather is below zero you may not have a choice in the matter because the radiant heated floors may not be able to handle the cold in the normal setting. This is just something to think about.
