Why do hospitals have the coldest air conditioner

My mother has been in and out of the hospital for the past month and a half.

It’s been stressful, because the doctors aren’t entirely sure how to treat her ailments, plus I know the whole process has been quite rough for her. I have been going to see her nearly every day since I work near the hospital five days a week. Neither me nor my mother appreciate the fact that the hospital air conditioner is always so freezing. It was the same frigid temperature back when I was visiting the hospital before my grandmother died. My mother hates it, and asks many different hospital staff all the time to turn up the air conditioner. None of them have agreed yet, because the a/c has to be set at a certain temperature for the entire hospital, plus they really don’t have the authority to change it. I personally feel that hospitals should have custom thermostats for each room, so that patients can be accommodated with their own specific needs. They should also implement smart temperature controls so that the patients can change the temperature themselves from their bed, since some of them are immobile. Since the cold hospital is just a fact of life at this point, I bring my mother extra blankets to try and make her as comfortable as possible. Treatment has been going well as of late, and I hope she is healed up soon, because I know this is a very trying time for her.
