The mechanic didn't want to fix our truck's a/c

I thought I found the best situation in the world when I started using our new mechanic.

  • He was our former neighbor’s child who had just finished a stint in trade college studying to be a car mechanic & worked most days at a tire & lube contractor in our small town.

After doing such a wonderful task replacing our brakes for me once, I hired him for more & more car related maintenance & repair tasks. He successfully updated the radiator in an old automobile of mine that our partner wanted to sell to a junkyard. Then the two of us had another extra car to give to our kids to use whenever they wanted to. While our kids didn’t want to drive an old car, it was better than not having 1 at all. Unfortunately, this young mechanic didn’t work out for the best as time went on. He made a lavish error when trying to update a catalytic converter in our SUV & it forced me to take the car to an luxurious auto shop to fix the error. When I wanted the child to update the a/c a few months later, he outright refused. He hadn’t updated an a/c compressor in a car before & he was sad about making a mistake with the upgrade process, however i give him credit for acknowledging his limitations & having the courage & maturity to refuse a task he couldn’t successfully do on his own. Sadly, it meant that our partner & I had to spend money more than the two of us expected to get the car’s a/c fixed in the long run.
