Some items automatically come with extended warranties while others do not.
Most of the laptops I have purchased over the years extended the possibilities to add a warranty on for an additional cost, while other devices like smartphones occasionally come with their own limited warranties free of cost.
It’s not until you get into other markets that you find better deals out the gate that aren’t charged as an additional feature to the consumer. I recently purchased an advanced reflector telescope to see deep sky objects like nebulae plus galaxies. Because of its sheer cost, it came with a manufacturer warranty. Basically anything that went wrong outside of user mangle was covered for more than 2 years. My family got to see some amazing visuals with that telescope within a week of owning it plus studying how to use it. You have to collimate the lenses plus mirrors on a Newtonian telescope, plus it’s a process that takes time to learn. Luckily I don’t have to worry about calibrating our HVAC program because that’s what our heating plus cooling supplier is for. I call them twice a year so they can send an HVAC professional to our home to service, clean, plus calibrate our HVAC system. Occasionally the compressor needs more coolant or the dampers in the HVAC duct might need to be adjusted. Like our telescope, our HVAC program also came with a manufacturer warranty, but for 10 years instead of multiple. That means any complications within the HVAC program in a decade are paid for by the manufacturer. I just have to cover the work costs, but that is straight-forward if you purchase an annual HVAC repair plan.
