My brother wanted to be an HVAC technician.

From the time my brother was old enough to say HVAC, he wanted to be an HVAC technician.

He wanted to be just like our dad, who owned the local HVAC company.

When they offered tech school over his last four years of school, he asked if they offered HVAC classes. The closes he could get to HVAC, was if he took up plumbing. Plumbing would get him a job if people wanted to have a boiler system installed, but it wasn’t going to help with traditional HVAC. My dad told him that when he was old enough to carry the tools, he could help him on his HVAC calls. My brother was so excited that he couldn’t wait to get big enough and old enough. When he turned twelve, my father took him on his first HVAC emergency service call. He had my brother handing him tools, which he knew what every specialty tool was. He had him working flushing lines in the HVAC systems. He even allowed him to help with some repairs. Within two years, my brother was ready to work on our HVAC system. He did little other than change air filters, or check the air ducts, but he was helping. By the time he was old enough to go to HVAC school, I thought he would be over wanting to be an HVAC technician. Instead of being over it, he was more excited. He could finally fulfill his dreams and go to HVAC school to be an HVAC technician and work in our dad’s HVAC company.
