One of the reasons I moved to this town was to get out of the neighborhood plus all the crime; however, straight out of university, I moved to the neighborhood for a job! I was awfully smitten with the fact that I was working in a costly office downtown with good commercial HVAC plus all the amenities. But I wasn’t so glad living in the house building. I was paying a fortune to rent a 1 kitchen apartment, but nor was I glad with the underwhelming quality heating plus air of that apartment. But it was also the feeling that I wasn’t nearly as safe as I could be that got myself and others to transfer nearly an hour out of the city. It was definitely worth the commute for a long time! These days, I do more working remotely than I do going into the office. So that allows myself and others to be at the condo even more. But I’m starting to guess that neighborhood crime is spilling into our town. I’m now locking down the HVAC equipment outside of our home, then after a rash of burglaries on HVAC cottages outside homes, I wasn’t so sure that I wouldn’t be next. And what’s absolutely galling is the fact that the thieves are even stealing overpriced HVAC components. Instead, they are destroying hundreds of dollars in residential HVAC for handfuls of copper fittings. That forced myself and others to order a cage that goes over the HVAC cottages and locks down to the concrete underneath, however maybe it’s time to transfer again if that’s the way it’s going to go.
