I recently made quite a large mistake, and the complication was that I did not suppose about the mistake until a long time later! I think that making this mistake has taught me to kind of check around the cabin a little more frequently to see that everything is in order, what I am referring to is that I went into our HVAC closet on a whim last night to sort of check on things.
I actually wanted to see how dirty our air filter was at that point.
What I discovered freaked me out plus made me believe rather dumb, but apparently, I had not installed the air filter properly. It was lying on the floor just below the HVAC equipment. I had stuck it in wrong plus it ended up being blown off. This was particularly distressing because I hadn’t checked on that air filter in a few weeks! I had been running our heating plus air conditioner separate from an air filter for who knows how long at that point. It may have even been as long as the same afternoon that I improperly installed it! I do not seem to be experiencing any noticeable problems with our air conditioner or oil furnace though. I am using both these afternoons because it’s December in the South, plus that means that warm afternoons plus freezing afternoons come at the roll of the dice. I well plus honestly hope that I did not do extensive or irreparable disfigure to our heating plus air conditioner! I have always heard that it is a very risky plus damaging thing to run an HVAC system separate from an air filter for any length of time.
