My air conditioner was struck by a dash of lightning

The air conditioner was not reclaimable after that plus it ended up costing us quite the exorbitant amount of money to get a new HVAC system

It’s honestly warm plus wet outside these afternoons! However, that is typically how summers go in this region… Scarcely an day goes by separate from a sudden plus violent thunderstorm rolling up plus dumping rain plus lightning. Afternoons like that make me a little nervous, because I had an experience a couple years ago that left our heating plus A/C completely fried! The sad thing is, I had actually heard long before our air conditioner was struck by lightning that it was a pretty great idea to turn off the A/C during a violent electrical storm. I know I just decided to play the game of odds, because admittedly, they are in your favor when it comes to lightning strikes, however I lost! My cabin took a hit from a lightning bolt when everyone was home 1 Tuesday day. The bolt struck the outside components of our air conditioner plus every component that had to do with electricity was completely fried, plugs were even melted. The air conditioner was not reclaimable after that plus it ended up costing us quite the exorbitant amount of money to get a new HVAC system. Almost right away after that, all of us ended up installing a lightning rod on our cabin to try plus mitigate any future strikes! So that’s why our advice to any air conditioner owner is to simply shut off the A/C during a disappointing storm! Keep it off for at least the duration of the most intense lightning; You’ll be glad that you did.
