I forgot to replace the air purifier filter

I’ve been fairly forgetful over the last few weeks. Inadvertently forgot my sister’s birthday and I feel terrible about it. We had all gathered together at my parents house and I didn’t even realize why we were there until I saw the gifts on the table. That was a very awkward afternoon especially when I had explained why I came empty-handed without a gift for my sister. I played it off as if I was giving her something online, at which point I pulled out my phone and hastily purchased her a large gift card to her favorite perfume store. Well she was happy, I could tell that she realized I had forgotten and didn’t even know why I’d been invited to her house that day. Ever since that happened I’ve been trying to be better about not forgetting appointments, arrangements, or any dates that are important to other people. Lately I’ve just been forgetting about things around the house, especially my air purifier filters. I have several air purifiers around my house and the filters get clogged fairly quickly. They are not cheap either. One of the filters for instance is $26 when it’s on clearance, and usually $35 when it isn’t. They say that the HEPA filters inside the air purifiers will last up to 6 months, but after about 3 to 4 months of daily use the filters are dark and clogged with sediment. When I forgot to replace the filter the last time, I had respiratory and sinus issues. Right after I replaced the air purifier filter and turned the machine back on, I know it’s an immediate improvement in the stuffiness of my nose.
