In April, my wife and I decided it was a good time to contact the heat pump and AC unit installation company. We actually contacted several different companies in order to get estimates. One company came out and charged us $125 for the estimate and then we got a bunch of other companies to give us their estimate over the phone because someone had already done the hard work of finding the problem. The price of the heating and AC equipment was very important to me, because I wanted to make sure that we were going to get the best price. I contacted a dozen different companies. Most of the quotes were around the same amount of money but I found two that were outrageous and two that were extremely low. One of the companies that was extremely low was an independent contractor. The independent contractor was Nate certified. I decided to contact the guy to see if he could do the work within a week. The contractor told me that he had a two-month waiting list because his prices were so cheap. I know there was going to be a catch when I saw the low installation and equipment fees.
