I finally became a new homeowner for the first time ever recently, i had been renting apartments for the last various years after getting out of college.
I was ready to supply up being a renter and seeing all of that money go down the drain.
Instead, now that money goes towards a mortgage payment and I am already building equity on the house, but unfortunately, it has not been the easiest process transitioning into being a homeowner. There’s something good about having a rental agreement with a landlord that stipulates all troubles have to be taken care of whenever I make a call… So if there is a backed up toilet or sink train, the landlord has to take care of it. If I run into one of these troubles myself, I have to call the appropriate people to get the work done. It’s all on my shoulders to take care of these troubles from the start. I had to find a good heating and cooling supplier to get a repair and maintenance contract for my air conditioner and heater. I don’t want my air conditioner heating system to cut down after normal use because I haven’t been taking care of the repair and maintenance, then luckily for me, the supplier that handles my HVAC care also does plumbing equipment repairs and upgrades! After having them do my heating and cooling repair visits, I usually call the schedule my plumbing repair visits as well. I usually don’t need as much plumbing work so regularly that this particular supplier only handles my heating and cooling work. They installed a smart thermostat for me last week.
