After being convinced by my kids for quite some time I decided that I was going to go ahead and give us more thermostats. My kids really love all this new technology and for me, I just don’t see the need for all of it. My kids are the ages 20 and 25 and they love all this new smart technology stuff. They have Smart everything and a smartphone, smart TV and of course the smart thermostat. Last I heard even their lights they command to turn on using their voice. Maybe I’m just outdated and old fashioned but what is the purpose of all this? Now don’t get me wrong I have nothing against modern technology but I guess I’m just used to the old way of life. Why would I need to tell my house to turn on my lights? If I want to turn on the lights all I gotta do is get up and flip the switch. Same is true with adjusting the temperature on the thermostat, if I’m not happy with my current temperature I just suggested. I don’t need a smart thermostat to do that for me. But since they wanted me to see what it was like so badly I decided when I went over to visit them but I would use their thermostat. I won’t deny that the smart thermostat was nice but I think I’ll still stick with my traditional thermostat, it’s been doing me well when I see no need to change that.
