Using twice the fuel as normal

With the recent frigid conditions my pal and I have been experiencing my pal and I are distraught about getting out utility bills next month.

My fantastic friend and I keep changing the temperature control but the drafts that blow through the home are making it really difficult to keep warm.

Even the outlets on the wind side of the home seem to blow frigid air into the family room. When my pal and I first purchased the house, my pal and I did some minor improvements, painting the walls, putting up new shutters, plus doing some landscaping. Mostly cosmetic improvements. I now wish my pal and I would have spent the extra money to have the insulation in the walls, windows, plus such bumped up at that time. My fantastic friend and I could have saved the money on paint but dealt with the mess when the home was still empty; Now, my pal and I will be stuck either opening the walls or having that blown in insulation installed. Both of these processes will mean making repairs to the drywall plus repainting, both of which I am dreading. My fantastic friend and I can’t continue to just spend money higher bills each winter time so I don’t see any other option. To make it through the rest of this season, my pal and I have jammed off unused rooms, put draft protectors in front of the doors, plus even put that plastic movie over the windows. None of this is really beautiful, but, it will help a little anyways. I even went to the hardware store plus found little foam boards to install behind the electric plates. This is an inoverpriced way to block some of the cold. I hope that my pal and I can come up with the money for a more permanent solution in the Spring.
