I’m so cheerful to exist in this stage of history.
I can’t even imagine living in an earlier generation, where you couldn’t pull up your iphone to ask a random medical question, track down your friends in real time with GPS, or check your weather conditions at home from hundreds of miles away… All of these advancements absolutely make life easier as well as so much more informative, and however, there are some major downsides with how technologically linked our lives are these days.
It turns out that when one technology is highly reliant on another, it definitely can bring the whole system down. This is exactly what happened last yearwhen a large storm blew through as well as disrupted our temperature control programming at home… You see, my buddy and I recently had a smart temperature control installed with our Heating as well as Air Conditioning program, as well as my buddy and I didn’t exactly know how it operated yet. It was working fine, supplying us with fresh as well as cool air inside, despite the heavy, hot as well as humid air outside. As this big storm blew through, my buddy and I suffered a power outage as well as suddenly the A/C stopped. As the power flickered back on, my buddy and I realized that the new smart temperature control had gone offline; it was no longer connected to the home WIFI or the A/C unit! My friend and I decided that the only way to reconnect the temperature control panel with the air handling device was to use the app. However, when my buddy and I attempted to access the smart temperature control application, my buddy and I realized that it wasn’t working either. The storm had knocked down a cable line, leaving us separate from working WIFI. My friend and I couldn’t access the app, locate a WIFI signal, or connect our temperature control to the air conditioner system manually. In the end, my buddy and I were stranded separate from any indoor temperature control for three days thanks to new technology.
