I always wanted to have a house with a pool.
It has been my dream since I was a little kid.
A lot of my friends grew up in houses with pools and I was jealous that I didn’t have a pool when I was a kid. When it was summer time, it was hot outside and the only way I could cool off was to go swimming in the creek. I could hear my friends playing in their pools and I had to sit in the river in muddy water to cool off. When I met my current husband, the first thing I told him was that my dream house had to have an in-ground pool. When we looked for a house, we only searched for houses that actually had a pool. We found a house that was in serious disrepair. It was $50,000 less than other houses in the neighborhood. I was certain that we could make all of the repairs for much less than that. The place had an inground pool, but all of the plumbing had to be redone. I had no idea how much that was going to cost. I contacted a specialty plumbing contractor that takes care of pools. The contractor came out to give me an estimate and it cost a lot more money to replace all of the plumbing then I expected. They basically had to tear the pool apart in order to redo the plumbing and that was going to cost a fortune. We should have just bought a brand new construction house instead.
