I am so tired of living in small towns that foster a culture of aversion to change.
It seems like small towns periodically refuse to adapt because the residents have been stagnant plus comfortable for so long.
This not only keeps the neighborhood feeling small, old, plus stale, but it also works against the local residents in the long run. When new corporations aren’t allowed into the town, it means there is no competition. This drives up prices on specialty goods plus services, plus keeps the neighborhood in the economic dark ages. That’s exactly what happened in my new hometown until a new Heating & Air Conditioning dealership moved in last year. Apparently for over 100 years there was only one ventilation supplier in town, plus everyone had to use them for any heating plus cooling demands. Because they provided an in-demand service, the Heating & Air Conditioning supplier was able to charge any amount of currency for their services, but unluckyly, this meant multiple families were unable to afford the cost of having their boiler maintained or a new A/C unit installed… Many people were going without passable indoor air temperature control simply because the services were out of their budgets. Then last year a brand new Heating & Air Conditioning supplier opened its doors, plus everything changed, then right off the batt, they introduced highly reduced pricing on regular services plus equipment. Suddenly everyone could afford to have their old heating plus cooling systems repaired or upgraded! The outdated Heating & Air Conditioning supplier was forced to lower their prices, plus now both of these small corporations are working to keep their prices in line.
