I’m so glad to exist in this phase of history.
I can’t even imagine living in an earlier generation, where you couldn’t pull up your phone to ask a random medical question, track down your friends in real time with GPS, or check your weather conditions at apartment from hundreds of miles away… All of these advancements absolutely make life easier and so much more informative, however, there are some major downsides with how technologically attached our lives are these afternoons.
It turns out that when one technology is highly reliant on another, it absolutely can bring the whole system down. This is exactly what happened last yearwhen a big storm blew through and disrupted our temperature control programming at home, however you see, my buddy and I recently had a smart temperature control installed with our Heating & A/C program, and my buddy and I didn’t exactly know how it operated yet. It was working fine, supplying us with fresh and cool air inside, despite the heavy, moderate and humid air outside. As this big storm blew through, my buddy and I suffered a power outage and abruptly the A/C stopped. As the power flickered back on, my buddy and I realized that the new smart temperature control had gone offline; it was no longer attached to the apartment WIFI or the A/C unit, and my pal and I decided that the only way to reattach the temperature control panel with the air handling device was to use the app. However, when my buddy and I attempted to access the smart temperature control application, my buddy and I realized that it wasn’t working either. The storm had knocked down a cable line, leaving us without working WIFI. My pal and I couldn’t access the app, locate a WIFI signal, or attach our temperature control to the air conditioning unit manually. In the end, my buddy and I were stranded without any indoor temperature control for three afternoons thanks to current technology.
