HVAC Repair Tips for Homeowners

All I hear when Dad gets home is, “Why does she do this?” I should start off that he yells, “What, again! He gets pretty upset after work after a long day of work.

It’s mainly how the settings of the thermostat are set at.

But there are other variable things. He has mainly said he will get a smart thermostat installed if he has to because he has been working in a freezer all day and when he is at home, he doesn’t want to be in an air-conditioning house after. I feel that is unfair to us because it’s hot outside and the air quality of this house is great. I don’t say much because I don’t pay the bills. I learned that lesson a long time ago and he will turn his frustration towards me if I do say anything. Last time I said something about what I wanted to watch on TV and then he took money out of my allowance stating, “Money for TV usage.” So I will never say anything again because I need my lousy ten dollar a week check. Still, him getting upset isn’t right and maybe he should just get a portable space heater if he doesn’t like the feeling of the house when he gets home. Or, he could just spend time outside or I don’t know, figure it out? I guess if I was in his shoes I’d feel the same but I’m not. I know I have to keep an open mind but at the same time, he can be a little more respectful and think about what he is saying.

I’m young, living life the way I want to and I don’t have the pressures of living at home with my parents anymore. My sister comes over often though and makes sly comments about my well-being and such. I usually just pass it off as nothing but it does bother me that she does it every dang time. I play lots of video games, I don’t care to get outside and go to the beach. I hate the sun and the heat of the outdoors. I love my air conditioning but these last few months it’s been a little clunky. I know why, it’s the air conditioner filters but I really don’t want to spend my money on something I can’t play with. Air quality isn’t really essential to me but others feel I’m in the wrong here and I just don’t really care. I love getting takeout, plugging my headset in, and dominating the online shooter world. It’s something that I enjoy and like I said I’m young. As a matter of fact, I’m only 22 years old and people need to understand I’m living the life I enjoy now because as I get older, I’ll have responsibilities that will take me away from this life. I look forward to the days of being a father and having a wife but that is so far down the road, I don’t even think about it. I would say I’m not even an eligible bachelor which is completely fine with me. I guess those air filters should be changed but that is a problem for tomorrow and not today.

I don’t understand what goes on in my brother’s head.

He is not the cleanest person in the world, he loves to be lazy and he always eats out.

He wonders why he is always miserable and he always complains that he doesn’t feel great. I wish he just took better care of himself and actually woke up and try to live life and what’s the saying, “Get outside and touch the grass.” He doesn’t do anything and he is proud of his many hours spent online laughing with friends and saying how great he is at shooter games. I don’t understand what is so spectacular about video games anyways. I just love going to the beach and having bonfires with friends. The reason he is sick all the time is because he needs to change his air filters. The air quality in his place is garbage, that’s the easiest way I can say it. I’m not going to beat around the bush about it. It’s all facts and he knows it. Our buddy, Timmy works for the HVAC company and looked at it one day and said that he needed new ones and he should go out and buy them. Do you know what my brother did? He went out and bought a new video game instead of taking care of the air filter problem. There is nothing that can make this guy take care of himself and he just doesn’t care. Maybe for his birthday, I’ll buy him air filters and then install them for him. I know he won’t do it.

I always had dreams when I was a little kid.

I’d want to be an astronaut, racecar driver, or even a hockey player.

Those dreams always changed as I aged and I sometimes dress the part for Halloween. I lived out those small dreams as a little kid for the longest time and those were just a few examples. When I hit my teenage years my parents finally got a window air conditioning unit and it felt great but only the living room did. Sleeping at night in my bedroom in the middle of summer didn’t really feel the greatest and there were times I didn’t sleep at all. I remember my first time learning about central air conditioning, I went to my friend Steve’s parent’s house and it felt beautiful. I would spend numerous nights doing sleepovers and from that point on, my dream would be to one day have central air conditioning in my very own home. I bought my first house at the age of 24 and the house I bought didn’t have central air conditioning at the time. Instead of buying new furniture, a TV, you know, other key essentials like silverware, I reached out to the local HVAC company. That day I scheduled an appointment for an HVAC tech to come to my house later that week to have central air conditioning installed. Those first few nights living in the house weren’t too bad though as summer was just starting to kick off. But I knew I needed the comfort to have a great summer. I mean, I love the heat when I’m outside doing things but I want my house to feel nice and cool when I’m there.
