HVAC Repair Tips for Homeowners

Life can take you places you never would have guessed.

Twenty years ago if you told me I would be a drummer and singer in a band in Spain I would have thought you had the wrong person.

Back then I was running my painting company thinking there was no end in sight, but how life can turn on a dime and change the storyline completely. I broke up with an ex and was really depressed living in the States eight years ago so I decided to move overseas and ended up quitting my comedy career to pursue music. HVAC equipment repairs replaced my painting company job and now I am over here working on space heaters and things like that and playing music in a band. We have made about 25 songs so far and uploaded them online for our growing fan base, which is growing very slowly because I am not into the online promoting game like so many others. I would rather fix an air purifier than sit online trying to get more followers, which is why we have only 45 followers but I think that is going to change over the next few months as we trim back hours at the HVAC business and cut our first album. I just saw a new album by Pearl Jam and they inspire me to keep pushing because I am still younger than the lead singer by three years. I was living with his uncle Freddie at one point when I was a local contractor in the States doing heating and cooling work in town.

Soon, I may be regretting selling the family home and moving down here to the land of the heat pump.

This is my first full Summer down here and I’m a bit scared.

It’s May and there are days where the heat and humidity feel like the worst that the weather could supply back home. And again, it’s just May! Like the folks around here are out soaking up every moment of being outside while they can. Soon, the heat and humidity level will be such that there’s more time spent inside the central air conditioning system for sure. I understand that it gets so hot that going to play hockey during the peak heating hours of the day is a death wish for a fat guy like me. So we’ll have to see if indeed moving down here was the right call. But it’s not like we’re going home because my pal and I sold that home. It was our family home for just shy of 32 years! My nice friend and I lucked out and got to retire almost a decade early so having a great, big household made zero sense. The realtor was a close friend and my pal and I just followed the list of projects my pal and I needed to get done in order to garner a great price. First on the list was replacing the aged Heating and A/C equipment. Thanks to 3 decades of Heating and A/C service twice a year, my pal and I were on the original residential Heating and A/C that came with the house. The new residential Heating and A/C was quite something though. I couldn’t know the evolution in Heating and A/C technology.

It absolutely wasn’t taxing at all but wow, I absolutely feel nice about being prepared for Summer, however and I entirely did it this time! Normally, I might talk a big game when it comes to prepping the household in order to save on air conditioning system costs, then where I live, there absolutely is no winter prep per se, and for sure, I have the Heating and A/C professionals come out to do the heating service on the residential Heating and A/C, however but that’s it really. And even then, the heat pump might provide some heating a handful of times all season, however so no, prepping the household isn’t a winter thing. For us, it’s a Summer thing. Anytime you seal up a household well, it can only add efficiency to the heating and cooling equipment; Down here, it’s all about saving currency on all the air conditioning system that comes with a long, grueling heat season, then the temperatures can stay in the way upper 90’s for the entire period. A rainy day is sort of a brief miracle and inspires me to walk outside in the rain. So really, all I had to do was go online to the Heating and A/C corporation’s website. They had the whole household prepping thing all laid out in absolutely clear terms. Shoot, they even included a shopping list to reference at the hardware store; I also had the air conditioning system tune up done early in March this year as well. I’m still sort of in awe that, for once, I’m entirely ready to roll into Summer with the least bit of confidence that I won’t get killed on cooling costs; Of course, I’ll still have to be typically disciplined when it comes to the control component setting. But I don’t feel that will be a problem.
