HVAC Repair Tips for Homeowners

Ever since I moved up to the top floor of our office building, I have been hot and sweaty.

I know that sounds like I am being a little overly dramatic, but I can assure you that it is the truth.

For some reason, the temperature on the top floor is always way too hot for me. I think that there is something wrong with the commercial heating and cooling system that they have on the top floor of the building. Of course, I don’t really know anything about HVAC systems at all. I still feel like they should do something about the issues that we are having up on the top floor of our office, though. I know that they have a guy who specializes in building maintenance working here at the office. I see him around the building from time to time, changing light bulbs and fixing broken floor tiles and things like that. I think that he is probably the one who is supposed to work on the heating, cooling, and ventilation system in the building too. Maybe the problem is just too much for him to fix, though. It might be something that needs to be handled by a professional heating and cooling company. I think that’s actually what needs to happen, but nobody at work is asking me for my opinion. I just don’t think that they are ever going to be able to get the HVAC system working correctly upstairs if they don’t hire a professional commercial HVAC technician to come and do the work on it.

Hiring an HVAC technician is important but you have to make sure that you hire the right one for the job.

For example, the right HVAC technician for a residential furnace or air conditioning job might not be the right guy to hire for a commercial HVAC project.

I have learned this over the years as I have been the owner of many small businesses and the owner of many different homes. I know that some people seem to think that one HVAC company is the same as any other, but I personally have not had that experience at all. I know that every HVAC technician is not created equally. I have one HVAC technician who comes to my house to do the heating and cooling repairs and maintenance for us every year and he is the best. I think that he is a really nice guy. He knows his residential heating and cooling systems like nobody’s business. After using him for all of our HVAC needs for our house, I would never want to use anyone else. However, he doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing when it comes to commercial HVAC repairs. He came right out and told us that commercial HVAC repairs are not in the least bit interesting to him. He won’t even go into my shop to see what the problem is with my heating system because he says that commercial HVAC systems are completely different from the other ones that he knows how to fix. I never realized this before he told me about it.

You really need a good heating system in a shop like ours.

• My friend Bob and I have been running a woodshop in our small town for the past couple of years.

We make a lot of custom cabinets, but Bob also makes all of these old fashioned specialty toys that have really taken off in the past couple of years. People love them and we sell a ton of them. We take orders for them and we stay busy with them throughout the year most of the time. Well, a couple of years ago whenever we first opened up, we started to have a lot of trouble with the wood supply warping and cracking. We couldn’t figure out what the problem was at first, but it turned out that the humidity levels and the indoor air quality in the shop were actually the problem! Once we figured out that we needed to get a new HVAC system so that we could level out the humidity in the woodshop, everything started to go much better for us. With a new heating and cooling system and a humidity monitor, we have been able to make sure that everything is just right in the storage area. Ever since we had a commercial HVAC company come out to work on the HVAC system for us, we haven’t had any more problems with our wood supply splitting or warping. I guess your heating and cooling system is more important than you might think. These days, we have our HVAC system maintained regularly just to make sure everything is okay.

We had to get a heater for the pool last weekend because our old one finally stopped working. We have had a pool for about ten years now, and our favorite time to swim in it is actually during the winter. I know that probably sounds crazy to most people but since we have had a really good heating system in the pool since we installed it, the winter has been the best time for us all to actually use it. We are so busy with sports and other things during the hot part of the year that we barely ever get to use the pool at all whenever the temperatures are hot outside. It’s a really good thing that we decided to put the heating system in the pool when we got it because I don’t really think that it would be worth the money to have the pool if we had not! Early last week when I was taking a dip out there after work, I noticed that the temperature wasn’t nearly as warm in the water as it usually was. That made me concerned, since we aren’t even halfway through the winter yet. When I checked the pool thermostat, I realized that there was an issue with the pool’s heater. Since it was torn up during the winter, it was more difficult to find one to replace the broken one with. We ended up having to order one from a speciality store instead of finding one here in town. I’m glad that the heating system is working now!
