HVAC Repair Tips for Homeowners

I’ve been training with a group of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C workers plus now I’m almost ready to go out on our own.

I have been training with these gentlemen for a long time now plus I suppose that they have basically taught me everything that they know, but from 1 morning to the next, you just never believe with these gentlemen what they might end up telling you.

I have l acquired all kinds of things from them over the past year. It’s been a long time coming, but now I am finally almost ready to strike out on our own plus become an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C worker in our own right. The only reason that I have been working with all of these other gentlemen is because I want to work at this particular Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C corporation here in town. I suppose that they have the best working hours plus benefits of any Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C corporation around. Not only that, but they have a lot of gentlemen working there who I legitimately like. I’m friends with most of them already, since the people I was with and I have been working together on getting me trained over the last few weeks. It’s been legitimately nice to learn with all of the hands-on experience that they have been helping me out with, and you just don’t get the same kind of experience from classes plus classroom work as you do with actual on the job training. The fact that they all believe me pretty well plus they love me means that they are legitimately going to put a fantastic word in for me at this corporation. I suppose I’ll legitimately be able to get a job here soon!

It’s really hot and wet outside these days. However, that is typically how summers go in this region. Scarcely an afternoon goes by without a sudden and violent thunderstorm rolling up and dumping rain and lightning. Afternoons like that make me a little nervous, because I had an experience a couple years ago that left my heating and air conditioning completely fried! The sad thing is, I had actually heard long before my air conditioning system was struck by lightning that it was a pretty good idea to turn off the air conditioning during a violent electrical storm. I guess I just decided to play the game of odds, because admittedly, they are in your favor when it comes to lightning strikes, but I lost! My house took a hit from a lightning bolt when everyone was home one Saturday afternoon. The bolt struck the outside components of my air conditioner and every component that had to do with electricity was completely fried. Plugs were even melted. The air conditioning system was not salvageable after that and it ended up costing us quite the exorbitant amount of money to get a new HVAC system. Almost immediately after that, we ended up installing a lightning rod on our house to try and mitigate any future strikes! So that’s why my advice to any air conditioning system owner is to simply shut off the AC during a bad storm. Keep it off for at least the duration of the most intense lightning. You’ll be glad that you did.

I recently made quite a big mistake.

The problem was that I didn’t know about the mistake until a long time later.

I think that making this mistake has taught me to kind of check around the house a little more frequently to see that everything is in order. What I’m referring to is that I went into my HVAC closet on a whim last night to sort of check on things. I actually wanted to see how dirty my air filter was at that point. What I discovered freaked me out and made me feel rather dumb. Apparently, I had not installed the air filter properly. It was lying on the floor just below the HVAC equipment. I had stuck it in wrong and it ended up being blown off. This was particularly distressing because I hadn’t checked on that air filter in a few weeks! I had been running my heating and air conditioning system without an air filter for who knows how long at that point. It may have even been as long as the same day that I improperly installed it! I don’t seem to be experiencing any noticeable problems with my air conditioner or heater though. I’m using both these days because it’s February in the South, and that means that hot days and cold days come at the roll of the dice. I well and truly hope that I did not do extensive or irreparable damage to my heating and air conditioning system! I have always heard that it is a very risky and damaging thing to run an HVAC system without an air filter for any length of time.

I’m so pleased with the quality heating and air inside our modern location.

But it sure wasn’t what I thought it was going to be so I was entirely quite pleasantly surprised.

This is our first time owning a beach house and I’m lucky to even have a shot at it, had it not been for the support of extended family, I wouldn’t be enjoying that quality heating and air at all. I’d still be back inside our cramped home with residential Heating and Air Conditioning that predates our birth. I have a cousin whom I’ve been pretty close to over the years. She has been somewhat of an older sibling as I’m an only child. So having her looking out for me has been great. She’s the one who found this house. It was section of an estate sale and she was colleagues with section of that family. They just wanted to get rid of the home as it was small and needed several repairs. I was up to doing the work as I’m pretty handy and the price was such that I could pull together a downpayment. That didn’t leave me with a wonderful deal of savings to beginning renovations. So when I found out that the air duct was not up to snuff, the residential Heating and Air Conditioning update was on hold. But thanks to a wonderful Heating and Air Conditioning corporation from the local Heating and Air Conditioning corporation, I was presented an alternative; Now I’m getting all that quality heating and air from numerous ductless heat pumps in our house. They work wonderful and are super efficient as well. I can’t think our nice luck to have this home and have a residential Heating and Air Conditioning alternative in the ductless heat pump.
