HVAC Repair Tips for Homeowners

We are going to be buying a vacation home with a fireplace in the living room soon.

This is something that I have been dreaming of doing for years now.

We have never been in the position financially to buy a vacation home until just recently, so this is a dream come true for me and my husband. We have been shopping around for a while now and we have a really good real estate agent. She has been showing us all kinds of places that she thinks that we would like, but the main thing that is important to me is the fact that I want a place with a fireplace. I finally told her that if the homes do not have fireplaces, then we don’t even need to look at them. I really don’t care if it has a gas log fireplace or a wood burning fireplace, as long as there’s a fireplace of some kind. I don’t really think that my husband cares one way or the other, but having a fireplace is very important to me. My husband says that the most important thing is the heating and cooling system. He is more concerned about the efficiency of the furnace, since we’re going to be buying in an area that is known for its cold climate. I guess that makes sense, but I really don’t care so much about the furnace. I’m planning to be sitting in front of our crackling, cozy fireplace so I can stay warm. I will just leave the thermostat settings up to him, I guess!

I am really excited about the new HVAC system that we are going to be getting in a couple of weeks.

I guess that just goes to show you that when you get older, you get excited about different things than you used to! I don’t think that when I was younger I ever would have cared one bit about a new air conditioning system or a new furnace. Now, that is all that I can think about. I just can’t wait for the indoor air quality in my house to be better. We have been dealing with terrible indoor air quality for a while now, and we have been waiting for our new HVAC system to arrive. We had to order the one that we wanted, and it was on backorder for a long time. I thought that it would probably be worth it in order to get the one that we really wanted, but the HVAC company warned us that it could take the supplier a really long time to get it here. When the HVAC company called us the other day and said that it was finally here, I was so happy that I was jumping up and down! Now, I can barely contain my excitement. Even though we couldn’t get put onto the installation schedule for about another week and a half, I am still really excited about it. We now have a date set for sure, and that means that the HVAC system will be here before the month is out! I can’t wait to start breathing better, purer air!

I don’t know why the heating system won’t work in our van all of a sudden.

We have always had a really good heating system in our van, and we have never had a problem with it at all up until this point. One of the reasons that we bought this van in the first place was because of the fact that it had a really great heating system in it. We could care less about the air conditioning system because it just doesn’t get all that hot around here where we live most of the time. However, in the winter, the temperatures around here get to be below zero for weeks at a time. That is not the kind of weather that you want to have to deal with without a working heating system in your van! We have little kids, too, so that makes the fact that the heating system isn’t working even worse. I know that there is some way to get it fixed, but I don’t really know what it is. I have never had to deal with this kind of thing before in a vehicle. I don’t really know whether I need to call a mechanic to see if they can fix the heating system or if I should just call an HVAC company. I guess either one of them could probably fix it, but the best bet is probably the mechanic. I don’t remember ever seeing an HVAC company working on a car outside! I am going to have to work it out, though, because it’s too cold to be without a heater!

My sister’s house always smells like Italian food for some reason.

She is constantly cooking, but I don’t know why that is.

She really doesn’t have anybody to cook for. I think she is just basically trying out new recipes all the time. It’s terrible because even though I think the house smells good when I’m hungry, it’s not always a nice thing to smell garlic all of the time! I told her that at least she will always be safe from vampires because one would not step within a hundred miles of her house at this point. I personally love Italian food, but that’s not what you want your home to smell like all the time, that’s for sure. My sister is going to host a book club, and so the other day she told me to come over and tell her what I thought of the house. She had rearranged the furniture and everything looked great, but the minute I walked in the door I was hit in the face by a very strong odor of garlic. When I told her that, she was surprised! she did not even smell the garlic anymore. I guess she has gone nose blind to it. Anyway, I told her that she needed to do something to improve the indoor air quality in her house. I think it offended her at first, but I was just trying to be honest with her about the smell in her house. She finally agreed with me and she called the HVAC company to talk to them about getting a whole home air purification system put in.
