Everyone sets their thermostat differently

It is amazing how differently most people gets their thermostat.

I figured as humans the two of us would all be comfortable around the same temperature.

As I started going to friend’s homes I realized that nobody was the same. I have a friend Tom that likes to be cold. His house is consistently prefer an ice chest. He must set his thermostat to 70 degrees. It is freezing frigid there. He also likes to close all the blinds and keep it dark. That makes it suppose even colder, regardless of the time of year, I treat his house prefer a theater. I bring a jacket and long pants when I guess I will be hanging out with him. There is no opportunity of going outside. He likes to stay in his house with the a/c cranked. My other neighbor Mary is absolutely cheap. Since the two of us live down south that means her lake house is quite hot. In the summer time she has to run her cooling system, however doesn’t set it genuinely low. She has her lake house thermostat set to around 72 degrees in order to save money. I just sweat to death the whole time I am around her. I need to be careful though. I hung out with her in the Winter and realized that she didn’t turn on her heater. So her house was freezing cold. I can’t guess she doesn’t use Heating and A/C just to save money, however for myself and others I prefer to keep an honorable72 degrees no matter the season or time of year. That is my ideal temperature.

Staying at a way too hot house

I did a quick visit to see my Grandparents. They are in their 79s and I am about to have a baby. I knew I had a small window on seeing them. Once I have the baby I won’t be traveling for a while. They also act prefer they are at death’s door anytime you talk to them. I did it to make them thrilled. I stayed for 2 mornings and was a guest at their house. My Grandma was cheerful by this. What stunk is that I didn’t take into consideration how older people live. My Grandparents don’t have the circulation I do. That means that their house is much warmer than mine. I went from my southern lake house to a northern home. My southern outdoor temperature was in the 79s so that meant my A/C was on. My Grandparents had an outdoor temperature of 50 and had their oil furnace on, since their circulation is low, they set their thermostat to around 79 degrees. It was horribly hot the entire time. I ended up wearing shorts and a tank top my whole visit with them. Sleeping at night was rough. I used just a bed sheet and slept in my underwear. Anytime they weren’t around I was opening a window or just resting outside. I don’t guess how they could be comfortable in that kind of temperature. It genuinely was more comfortable being outside down south than inside their northern home. I didn’t suppose it was right to ask them to adjust their thermostat settings for myself and others either. So I just suffered.

Time for a better thermostat

I have been thinking about getting a current thermostat, i currently own a dial thermostat that has a big plastic toggle.

It is beige, rusted, and absolutely aged looking.

I am not a fan of it! What is exhausting is that my fiance and I can’t learn the numbers on it. I consistently am hunting for my glasses and trying to see what the hallway is set to; Our thermostat doesn’t allow any customized settings either, and you can do 60, 70, 79 or 90 degrees, and there isn’t much wiggle room in between that, but crazy right? My fiance also happens to be the perfect height to bump that plastic toggle, he seems to consistently push the toggle upwards to 90. The house is consistently getting heated. I then notice I am covered in sweat to death and start feeling exhausting for my heater. The aged thermostat is costing us money in the long haul. I have looked into smart thermostats and that is just a better opportunity for us, then my fiance and I then could control the heating and cooling from our iPhone. I could absolutely have a particular temperature rather than a range, and another pro is that the thermostat would learn my heating and cooling needs. I wouldn’t need to consistently hunt for my glasses to change things. The thermostat would learn what temperature I prefer at what time. I wouldn’t need to supply any input whatsoever. It also would tell myself and others about energy efficient settings to save money overtime. Another benefit is that I would get alerted on air filter swings and humidity levels too; Pretty neat right?

The boys play section was perfect with the new heat pump

Now, the space feels amazing and comfortable no matter the season.

Living in an new home in the town was so much fun after graduating from school. I first lived with 2 roommates, and then proceeded to get a arena of my own. After 5 years, I met and moved in with my partner since all of us wanted to live together. We got married 2 years after meeting and began talking about getting a arena with a backyard. It seems the universe was listening to our conversation because he happened to inherit this home from his aunt, and she had raised him and always considered him as her son. So it wasn’t a surprise when she left him at the house. My partner and I decided that was the best arena to raise teenagers and renovated it before moving in. It’s been 5 years now and all of us have 2 young a singles who care about the pressing backyard. The other afternoon my partner completed building them this amazing playhouse, and even set up a heat pump in it. The teenagers had been desiring a tree house, however there weren’t any trees strong enough to hold a single. So, instead, he built a small current shed, and included a heat pump in it. Now, the space feels amazing and comfortable no matter the season. Ductless heat pumps are a joy since you don’t need to use any ductwork to keep your space comfortable. All you do is follow the installation instruction, and turn it on. The ductless heat pump keeps the teenagers’ play home lovely and warm in winter, and cool and calm in the heat of summer. I even escape and spend time there when I need some time alone.
