This will add to the monthly utility bills for a short time but, when it comes to your kids, no expense is too much; My hubby is even checking the seals around the doors plus windows to make sure that there is no draft that can lower the temperature. A news story broke the other day that has people talking everywhere in our area. The local gas contractor had a problem with one of their supply lines and they were requesting that all residential and small suppliers turn their temperature controls down by five degrees to conserve resources. That is all well and great if you don’t have young children or elderly people living in your home, my buddy and I have both! As things would have it, my dad was widowed last year and can no longer live on her own. She gets around ok, but, she tends to not take care of her health, finances, and upkeep on her surroundings anymore. She was really dependent upon our Dad to do these things for him. Now, my buddy and I have him, along with our three young children to care for. I can’t imagine turning the temperature down, one a cold winter time night, only to have several people end up complaining or sick. Mind you, it would be great for the utility bill as heating our apartment with our ancient HVAC system can be really upscale, but I don’t feel it is worth the health risk… Besides, who knows how long this repair will take and how several afternoons my buddy and I would have to endure the lower temperature. I guess if no one complies, my buddy and I could have it go out all together, but I am willing to take that opening at this point. So far, it has been four afternoons! I hope that they announce everything is back to normal soon. They said it is the first time in their 44 year history that they have had to make such a request.

I have been accused on more than one occasion of being too soft hearted.

I tend to take on projects to help others even when it totally conflicts with my time schedule and lifestyle.

I think that this is a good quality in everyone but mine can be too a fault sometimes. I have and especially soft spot when it comes to pets. I have often said I would love to foster homeless dogs and cats but fear that they would all become “foster failures” as i would not want to supply them up. That being said, our local shelter put out an urgent call for temporary fosters last weekwhen their Heating, Ventilation and A/C system broke down. They needed people to dwelling some of the pets for a week or so while they arranged for repairs. The understanding was that the pets would be returned to them once they had everything up and running. I convinced my family to allow me to foster two of the puppies that they had that were about 12 weeks old. They were so cute that everyone agreed to the temporary set up. I think my fiance knew in the back of his mind this was not a good idea. The puppies arrived and they were just adorable. The shelter said that they had a professional that would be out the following week to make the repairs and that they would contact to let us know when to bring them back. It turns out that the Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional tried to maintenance the problem but found that the system needed to be upgraded. The shelter is a non-profit and it does not have the money to do that at this time! I wish I have the funds to supply them but I don’t. The only help I can provide is a romantic dwelling for these two adorable puppies until they can get it fixed. This is a win for me as I can’t bear to part with them now anyway.
