HVAC Repair Tips for Homeowners

I know the place I am most at peace is at the shore.

I know that all the people trip by the ocean for the sunshine plus the sand.

They enjoy laying out in the warmth of the sunshine all afternoon long plus getting a good tan. I am the polar opposite. During the heat of the afternoon, I spend my time either in the shade of a palm tree reading or in the cabin with the air conditioner running. I simply hate being hot. I get up early so that I can lay outside, enjoy my coffee, plus take in the view along with the cool ocean breeze that blows. The smell of the air is just heavenly. By late day the air starts to heat up for the afternoon plus I retreat back inside. I spend the afternoon puttering around the cabin plus wait for the sunshine to begin to set. I may take a ride into neighborhood plus visit some local shops if they are air conditioned however for the most part I am somewhat of a hermit during the afternoon. Once the sunshine sets, I take walks on the beach or head back to neighborhood to enjoy the eveninglife, people who trip at the beach are so much fun to hang out with plus talk to. The part vendors stay late so I can always to see them when it is cool plus comfortable out. I am grateful that I have the possibility to live in such a good place. I am more grateful that I have an awesome HVAC system to keep me comfortable during the hot sunny afternoons. Very rarely do I need to have the heat on. During the winter time my good friend and I have actually mild temperatures. I do have a couple of portable boilers that I can use in the event it gets too frigid in the cabin however that is a rarity for sure.

I am actually excited to be heading to the state park for a fishing trip in two weeks. It has been a actually difficult summer time plus I easily need to get away. The idea of sitting by the water with a fishing pole in hand, soaking up the sun, plus enjoying the view, seems like perfection to me. We are going with my spouse’s aunt plus aunt for a three afternoon trip. The only thing I am concerned about is the weather. The long range forecast is calling for sunshine plus mid 68’s during the afternoon however mid 50’s at evening. The cabin my good friend and I are renting has no heat other than the fireplace. I am used to my HVAC system that keeps me cool or warm depending on the weather. I know I am spoiled in that I can control my home’s temperatures with the push of a button. We even have Smart Thermostats which means that my good friend and I can change the temperature while my good friend and I are away with our iPhones. Being addicted to technology makes it difficult to imagine trying to keep the fire going through the evening to stay warm. Although I am greatly looking forward to spending time with my spouse in the quiet surroundings. I am upset about the other parts of the trip. I will make the best of it I am sure as my good friend and I do not get this possibility to escape actually often. Hoping to catch some fish plus at least be able to have a fresh fish dinner one of the evenings! That is always a treat.

Our friends child is getting married tomorrow & the weather forecast is genuinely grim.

This summer time my associate and I have so several wedding it seems like that is all my associate and I do. Our own child was married in May & my associate and I have 5 others total this year. I care about weddings & always like to see the personal touches that people add to make their day special. This wedding is being held at a grove. The forecast for the day so far is 84 degrees with thunderstorms. I am praying that this changes for them. I can only imagine the prospective brides thoughts at this moment. I know our child was worried about the weather weeks in advance however it all turned out well on the sizable day. This time I am not so sure. I don’t even know if the grove has an indoor space with A/C. This makes deciding how to dress genuinely taxing as well. The last thing I want to do is sit for hours in a tepid & muggy reception hall just wishing the night would end. I think I will call the location today to see what the situation is at their facility. I am sure they have encountered these types of situations before & have hopefully planned for them. Who knows, maybe I am sad for nothing. They may have a room with a state of the art Heating & A/C system that will keep the 200+ guests cool & comfortable. If not, maybe they should change the dress code from formal to shorts & flip flops. A luau theme might be nice.

With the recent cold conditions we have been experiencing we are anxious about getting out energy bills next month.

My associate and I keep increasing the control component however the drafts that blow through the home are making it particularly taxing to keep warm.

Even the outlets on the wind side of the home seem to blow cold air into the residing room. When we first bought the house, we did some minor improvements, painting the walls, putting up new shutters, and doing some landscaping. Mostly cosmetic improvements. I now wish we would have spent the extra money to have the insulation in the walls, windows, and such bumped up at that time. My associate and I could have saved the money on paint however dealt with the mess when the home was still empty, and now, we will be stuck either opening the walls or having that blown in insulation installed. Both of these processes will mean making repairs to the drywall and repainting, both of which I am dreading. My associate and I can’t continue to just pay higher bills each winter time so I don’t see any other option. To make it through the rest of this season, we have obstructed off unused rooms, put draft protectors in front of the doors, and even put that plastic film over the windows. None of this is particularly elegant, but, it will help a little anyways. I even went to the hardware store and found little foam boards to install behind the electric plates. This is an incostly way to block some of the cold. I hope that we can come up with the money for a more permanent solution in the Spring.
