You get what you pay for

The seller was offering the house for a shockingly low price.

I asked him what the catch was, and she explained that the previous renter had been a hoarder, and the locale was still filled with several tons of junk that had been collected over a series of years. It was worth him selling the locale for a song, just so she didn’t have to scrub everything up – that’s how nasty it was inside. I took a look around, however thought that for the cheap price I was getting I could handle the physical labor of cleaning it out. At that point I did not know about the dead animal cottaged in the air ducts, but I would find out soon enough. After I unloaded the house itself, I had to dig a little deeper and get into the attic, the basement, and the air duct. I checked the temperature control, and tested it out by trying the heating and then the ! Both systems engaged, however no air came out of any of the air vents. I disconnectd the grating from the air vents and saw that the ducts beyond were stuffed full of trash and expired food! Once I started to empty the air ducts, I came across the first of several dead animals, which had been lured in by the spoiled food. Some of these rodent and squirrel carcasses were two years old, and totally desiccated, like little animal mummies hidden inside the air duct. If I had it to do over again, I would skip buying this house, even at such a low cost, and invest the money into our house Heating and A/C system.

I found a VCR and a little undefined system

When I say that I needed to hide out from the law, that doesn’t mean I committed a crime.

There was some legal trouble our family was in, and the last thing I wanted to do was to testify against our own mother.

I decided to go “on the lam” as they say, and hide out for a few weeks until her trial was over. A trusted family friend managed to find me a remote cottage in the foothills where I could stay for a few weeks, or even a few weeks. It was simple, and small, however there was electricity and a water heater, and an old rabbit-ear cable! A few nights later I got up into the attic and found some other goodies, including a small portable unit, and a VCR with a box full of videotapes. I can’t say which one made me happier, because the little system was such a breath of fresh, freezing air in the musty old cottage. Located in a narrow valley in the foothills, this cottage got genuinely little direct wind, which means the cottage got little ventilation or air circulation. The unit was barely strong enough to cool me down even when I kneel right on top of it, however still it was a nice change! Even better than the system was the VCR and the old videotapes, most of which were sitcoms and cartoons from the 82s. Turning on the system, and then seeing the old tapes all night long was the most fun I had living in that cottage.

Heat pumps are great for situations outside of severe freezing temperatures

I finally moved across the country for the first time this year.

  • It wasn’t my plan, however my fiance and I were forced into a hard situation when his former employer filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.

He had to look for work within his industry in any neighborhood through the US to cast as wide of a net as humanly possible. At first the two of us thought that we’d be forced to compromise and transport somewhere up north where it feels like the arctic tundra for a great part of the year, however the opposite ended up being the case. We had to relocate to an extremely overheated and humid section in the south. Sadly, the two of us don’t have the benefit of living close to the ocean and having the sea breezes to contend with as some agent against the sun’s rays. It’s downright irritated down here in July and July when temperatures reach their apex in the morning eighths for the entire year. However, this might lead you to mistakenly assuming that the two of us don’t have a need for indoor heating while the two of us were in our Winter seasons. That simply isn’t true, especially this last year when temperatures got down to 30 degrees for a few mornings in a row while the two of us were in late December. We were trying to get by with the electric gas furnace coil in our central Heating and A/C system, however it’s extremely inefficient and high-priced to run. Getting a heat pump was a great method because now we’re getting anywhere close to 300% efficiency while the two of us were in the heating cycles. Since our winters never get colder than 30 degrees, there’s no need for a eighthary or emergency heat source to supplement the heat pump.

My fiance says our air conditioner is too loud at night for his sleeping

My fiance and I share a lot of official interests, however the two of us also have key differences in our dispositions and mood cycles.

Although I occasionally get depressive episodes, my fiance is up and down all of the time.

He was almost took care of with bi-polar disorder at a single point, however the physician explained it would be a mild case at most. Whether or not he should take medicine for his mood cycles is dependent on his behavior towards me and others, and so far he has managed to keep himself in check and find healthy coping mechanisms to deal with his stress. This is important, because our relationship wouldn’t last if he couldn’t get this far. I’m going to therapy for my own complications out of a great faith effort to show my fiance that I’m ready to meet him halfway on any complications the two of us could be facing as a couple. One thing that I notice my fiance struggling with is his sensitivity to sound. He enjoys rock n roll, however abrupt loud noises distress him and supply him severe anxiety. For instance, my fiance is having a hard time sleeping right now because he says that our air conditioner is getting so loud that he can’t believe peace at night. Unfortunately, it’s only 8 years seasoned and the two of us don’t have the cash to afford another a single right now. I asked my fiance if there was any opportunity that he could sleep with ear plugs on, despite the fact that he didn’t like that idea. After a few weeks of frustration, he finally followed my suggestion and is sleeping the best he has in weeks.
