You get what you spend our money for

The seller was offering the home for a shockingly low price.

I asked him what the catch was, plus he explained that the previous tenant had been a hoarder, plus the arena was still filled with many tons of junk that had been collected over a series of years.

It was worth him selling the arena for a song, just so he didn’t have to wipe everything up – that’s how nasty it was inside. I took a look around, however thought that for the cheap price I was getting I could handle the physical work of cleaning it out. At that point I did not think about the dead critter lodged in the air ducts, however I would find out soon enough. After I unloaded the home itself, I had to dig a little deeper plus get into the attic, the basement, plus the HVAC duct. I checked the thermostat, plus inspected it out by trying the heating plus then the air conditioning, both systems engaged, however no air came out of any of the air vents. I removed the grating from the air vents plus saw that the ducts beyond were stuffed full of trash plus expired food, then once I started to empty the air ducts, I came across the first of many dead critters, which had been lured in by the spoiled food. Some of these rodent plus squirrel carcasses were many years old, plus totally desiccated, enjoy little critter mummies hidden inside the HVAC duct. If I had it to do over again, I would skip buying this house, even at such a low cost, plus invest the currency into our house Heating plus A/C system.

I found a VCR plus a little a/c

When I say that I needed to hide out from the law, that doesn’t mean I committed a crime.

There was some legal trouble our family was in, plus the last thing I wanted to do was to testify against our own mother.

I decided to go “on the lam” as they say, plus hide out for a few months until his trial was over. A trusted family acquaintance managed to find myself and others a remote lodge in the foothills where I could stay for a few weeks, or even a few months. It was easy, plus small, however there was electricity plus a water heater, plus an old rabbit-ear TV! A few days later I got up into the attic plus found some other goodies, including a small portable air conditioning system unit, plus a VCR with a box full of videotapes. I can’t say which 1 made myself and others happier, because the little a/c was such a breath of fresh, cold air in the musty old lodge. Located in a tightvalley in the foothills, this lodge got genuinely little direct wind, which means the lodge got little ventilation or air circulation. The air conditioning system component was barely strong enough to cool myself and others down even when I sit right on top of it, however still it was a nice change! Even better than the a/c was the VCR plus the old videotapes, most of which were sitcoms plus cartoons from the 68s. Turning on the a/c, plus then seeing the old tapes all night long was the most fun I had living in that lodge.

A terrible tenant ruined the a/c

I have managed a handful of rental properties for many years now, however i started doing it right after I retired, as a way to make extra currency plus also to keep myself busy! Retirement can be boring, so it’s superb to have hobbies, plus when those hobbies make currency, so much the better! Nine times out of ten, if not moreso, the guests who rent our apartments plus houses are genuinely nice people, plus leave the arena in the same condition they found it… Sporadically there are terrible tenants plus occupants, however, plus recently I had 1 such tenant, who left the entire lodge, plus the air conditioning, in terrible condition! Apparently this man believed that a/cs are powered by magic, plus thought they could make the arena as cold as he wanted it to be.

He must have been on drugs, because what rational man thinks the a/c can make it 32 degrees inside? When the air conditioning system component wouldn’t get cold enough, he tried to tune it up himself, with disastrous results.

I guess he was on drugs, however I don’t think for sure because after he ruined the central Heating plus A/C plan he packed up his stuff plus left in the middle of the night. I called an Heating plus A/C tech I have used before to get an estimate on the cost to replace the unit, plus then charged the debit card the tenant had used for those costs, however a current Heating plus A/C plan was going to cost myself and others many thoUSAnd bucks, plus the tenant’s card maxed out at many hundred bucks, so I’m screwed.

In the south, you need undefined

Insects and creepy-crawlies live here in astounding numbers, and almost all of them bite or sting, and last however not least, there are the hurricanes and tropical storms that hit the south several times a year, often with flooding and power outages… With all of these things laboring against your comfort levels, is it any surprise Heating and A/C systems are considered a requirement for living here? Quite frankly I don’t understand how this area was ever settled and civilized, because back then there was no Heating and A/C technology.

When you live in the deep south, there are a lot of little annoyances that you have to learn to live with; First of all, there is the heat and humidity, which is unrelenting for 9 to 10 weeks a year. The brief hints of freezing weather the two of us get are few and far between, secondly, there are the bugs. Not only was there no , however they didn’t have screened in porches or bug spray either – what a nightmare it would have been to live here! I basically keep our Heating and A/C plan running 24/7, and genuinely rarely open up any of the windows to let in fresh air. With fresh air comes more bugs, so I keep our house shut up tight to trap all of the cooling inside with me, but just a handful of times a year I need to open everything up for some natural ventilation, so the house doesn’t smell musty. I always try to do this while the two of us were in a phase of freezing weather, when I don’t need the A/C as much and there aren’t as numerous bugs out.
