I can do it myself when it's just the refrigerant

I am called a jack of all trades by many.

I can do a lot of different things.

One of which is sometimes I can actually repair my own central heating and air conditioning system depending on what goes wrong with it. I am no certified heat and a/c specialist and I know by messing with my central heating and cooling system not being certified I possibly could break it totally. However I am not worried about that at all because if I can not fix something or do not know what is wrong, I will call the local heating and air conditioning company and have them send out a certified heat and a/c specialist to repair the central HVAC system regardless. But when it is something small like a fuse being blown or the air compressor going out, these things I know how to fix! I will just buy an air compressor from a local heat and a/c supplier and swap it out myself. This saves me a few hundred dollars. The same with a blown fuse in the central heating and air conditioning system. But when it comes to something like a motor being dead or other heat and a/c system issues, that is when I will call the heating and cooling company without even thinking twice about it. I may be self strong so to speak and am ready to take on any task, but I am not stupid either. I know when a true HVAC professional is required to repair the central heating and air conditioning system unit!

I was nervous about this problem

I have to tell you how much I love the rain.

Where I live has the most lovely rain.

The reason I say this is because when it rains the air quality is absolutely perfect! There is nothing like a good bout of pouring rain and sitting by the window with it cracked open. I even run my central heating sometimes with the window open and the great air quality from the rain coming in. Sometimes there is even thunder and lightning. But it is not the dangerous kind as it is very light. Then after the storms are done the air quality and breeze is even more amazing. There is no need for a whole home air purification system where I live thanks to the nice rain that we get which clears the air quality and makes it all so wonderful. Words can not describe how great the air quality is during and after a really good rain storm here in my area. I must say though, that in the summertime when it rains even though the air quality is great, the heat is not. It gets rather muggy so I always have to run the central air conditioning if I am enjoying the rain by the window in the summer time months of the year. But never the less I like all rain. It does not matter what time of year it is. My central heating and air conditioning system will always help adjust the temperature so I have the most perfect indoor climate control while I enjoy the air quality and the rain as it pours.

I was very frustrated with the hassle

Back when I had a window air conditioning system back in the day, I recall it being a real hassle right at the end of summer when fall was coming around. You would get all kinds of tree debris and leaves blowing onto the part of the window air conditioning unit that sat outside the window. Cleaning it off was really tough to do. Especially if it was on a 2nd floor room. In these cases I had to always make the bedroom filthy and bring all that tree debris in when I was taking out the window air conditioning unit to put it away for the winter. I would have to vacuum up all the junk off my bedroom floor and then sanitize it as well. It was more or less having to do a deep clean of the bedroom after all of this. I am so glad these days are long gone and today everyone has central heating and air conditioning systems. I do not miss the days of window air conditioners one bit! Having central air conditioning there is no uninstalling it every single year. It is there all the time and also works as your heater. Though central heating and air conditioning systems are much more pricey in energy to run than window air conditioning units or even gas furnaces, I still prefer central heating and cooling over the way things used to be. Especially when it comes to window air conditioning systems. I am sincerely not a fan of window air conditioners for the exact reason I explained above with the tree debris!

When it’s overworked your HVAC won't last as long

One way to tell when your central heating and air conditioning system is overworking itself is when you start to see water dripping from the central HVAC unit.

Your heat and a/c system is not in any immediate danger when you see this however.

But, you may want to call a heat and a/c professional anyhow at some point to do an HVAC tune up and check up to see if there are any possible dangers of your central heating and air conditioning system breaking down on you. Central heating and cooling systems can be a bit tricky to maintain sometimes. But when you look for signs of being overworked or anything else, it helps matters. Another sign that your central heating and air conditioning system may be overworking itself is if it makes a lot of noise while running. If you hear a hum or rattling kind of sound all the time, chances are it is overworking. Which means you could have a possible air flow issue or maybe even need the ductwork of your central heat and a/c system cleaned out by your local HVAC professional at the local heating and cooling company. There are so many things to consider when owning a central heating and air conditioning system. These are just a few to talk about that I mention here. But if you get regular heat and a/c tune ups or check ups, you should be just fine in enjoying the full life of your heating and air conditioning system.
