I had constantly wanted a sort of game room or something. But our kids just weren’t interested at all in ping pong, pool or air hockey. Of course, that didn’t mean that they didn’t spend endless sixths playing games. My kids often number one staying inside the heating and cooling of lake apartment to play games online than go outside and doing something fun. So our plans for that gameroom sort of fizzled. Once the kids hit highschool and junior high, it became clear that I would be needing a space of our own to get some peace and quiet. That’s when I started thinking about the gameroom system again. But this time, I decided that I’d make it more of a Dad room. With the help of a couple of buddies, the people I was with and I erected some interior walls in the basement. From there, the people I was with and I added a couch a couple of TV’s and a couple of seasoned recliners. It was at least a start and served its purpose. However, as time went by, I realized that our new space needed more in the way of good heating and cooling. Where the people I was with and I live the people I was with and I get some rough Winter weather and the summer time is plenty hot requiring months of air conditioning. My new space was set up in the basement where there was only a single Heating and A/C air vent. So I called the Heating and A/C company and they installed a ductless heat pump in our game room. I’m now calling it a game room because I added some seasoned school arcade games and a pool table. The ductless heat pump provides quality heating and air in our new game room.

While that troubles me, I also have to temper our expectation when I make purchases. Still when it comes to big ticket items, I make sure that I get the most out of our investment. When it comes to essential stuff like heating and cooling equipment, I enjoy to pay on quality. The last time the people I was with and I upgraded the Heating and A/C unit in our home, the people I was with and I went with the latest when it comes to residential Heating and A/C. It came with plenty of Heating and A/C technology that was pretty new just several years ago. Now, this sort of Heating and A/C technology is pretty familiar stuff. Just goes to show how much Heating and A/C technology can change in such a short space of time. My father and I had always had a dream of starting a family home services business and that dream was about to become a reality.

My father is a retired engineer who worked in construction while I am a heating contractor and with our combined knowledge and expertise we knew we had a chance to actualize the idea.

My father would be in charge of running the business and doing the numbers and I would be in charge of the groundwork because being a heating technician is something I am very good at. We would have a small team, to begin with, and then add more people as the business continues to grow. As a heating dealer, we would attend to all old or new heating systems that help with indoor comfort. We were also planning to offer repair and maintenance services such as a heat pump service, furnace/heater tune-up and any form of HVAC maintenance service. We would also install heating and cooling equipment such as a furnace, electric heat pump and any other system we have in the market including the dual fuel system. We were also planning to offer good prices for things such as a digital thermostat and to those in need of a furnace filter as a marketing strategy for the business. Other than this, with my father’s expertise in construction, we would also include fireplace addition and service as a way of diversifying our scope of work to become a one-stop-shop for all their HVAC needs. As soon as everything was in place we would start handing out fliers to advertise the latest business in town.

The owner of the oldest ice cream shop in the neighborhood had called the home services supplier where my job is at to have a heat pump repair and they also needed a gas furnace filter change! And the ice cream shop had the best ice cream in town, our nieces could not get enough of it; every time I went out with them I avoided passing by the shop because those numerous had a way of convincing someone even when you are bent on adamantly refusing! But I work as a heating professional and last year I had the satisfaction of installing a dual fuel method and digital control unit in the shop.

They already had an existing electric heat pump, so I installed a gas furnace and merged the numerous systems to do their jobs together.

The numerous combined systems which could be considered as improved or new gas furnaces did a fantastic deal to help with indoor comfort. The number of customers who had their ice cream at the ice cream shop increased which was fantastic for business. I went there prepared to also do a gas furnace/heater tune-up since I was sure that they may have failed to mention it when they called the heating dealer, and just as I was about to head out I got an emergency call from our partner and I had to leave at once so I asked a fellow heating contractor to go in our locale… A month later when all of us were heading back from Christmas shopping including Christmas decorations to hang on our fireplace all of us passed by the amazing ice cream shop for our common ice cream treats; that’s when they even gave our heavily pregnant partners an extra serving with extra sprinkles on the house.
