HVAC Repair Tips for Homeowners

I’ve been in business for the past two years, but I’ve never managed to build the company until recently.

I thought I was doing well until I hooked up with an advertising company.

I actually went on a blind date with a person that worked for an advertising company. We didn’t have a love connection, but we had a lot in common. We became friends and hung out together on the weekends frequently. I learned a lot about advertising when I was hanging out with Jack. He showed me a lot of the ropes and told me what I was doing wrong. He helped me set up a website for the heating and AC repair company. I didn’t have a website in the past, but Jack said that was the biggest and best way to earn new sales each month. We worked on a website together for several weeks and then Jack helped me put the website online. That guy handles all of the advertising and web design work for my company. I keep hoping one day that Jack and I will fall madly in love, but I think we will probably just stay friends until we both meet other people. If I can’t be in a relationship with Jack, then at least I can benefit from his amazing advertising knowledge and expertise. The guy is a master. Not only does he understand how business works, but he is excellent with computer programming, web design, and graphic arts. I often think we could do amazing things if we were a team.

It was dry and I had the air conditioner running.

Both of my sons had soccer games on Saturday. The first game was at 9 in the morning. The next game didn’t start until 1. We had about an hour and a half between the first and second game. By the time the first game ended, the outdoor temperatures were well above 90°. It was extremely warm, bright, and sunny. The boys were complaining about being tired, but we still had a lot of activities planned for the day. When Jack started his game at 1 p.m., the temperature was 99 degrees. Several parents complained about the temperatures, but the coaches had plenty of water and a small amount of shade for the boys. Around 2, it started to rain. The Sun never left the sky, but the rain started falling in buckets. That game was postponed for an hour, but the rain felt great on that hot and humid day. I sat in the car for an hour while it rained and the boys stayed outside and played with their friends. I watched them have fun from the comfort of the car. It was dry and I had the air conditioner running. When the rain stopped, I turned off the air conditioner and went back to the field to join the kids. My younger son’s team won their match that morning by a score of 3-1, but my older son Jack didn’t have good luck. He had three goals scored against him and the team lost without a chance to score a single goal. He was sad and depressed the rest of the day.

After I bought my first house, my dad gave me a couple of books to help with home repairs. One of the books was especially about repairs on the AC system. My new home Central AC and a heat pump and I didn’t know the first thing about the equipment. My dad worked as a contractor, and he learned everything that he knows from reading books and having experience. He never had formal training. I tried reading some of the books, but I found them to be boring. I didn’t use them much at all until I had the first problem in the house. It turned out to be an issue with the central AC. I found the book on repairs and followed a list inside that included some simple areas I could check for problems. These simple steps included clearing the drain line and checking for buildup of mold and dirt, changing the air filter, and checking for problems with the evaporator coils. The handy list pointed me in the right direction and I realized that the evaporator coils were very dusty and dirty. They needed to be cleaned. I used an old toothbrush to carefully clean all of the evaporator coils. I learned that trick in the book too. I cleaned the coils, the machine works much more effectively. I called my dad later that night and I told him the story about the AC unit. Since then, I always try to figure out problems on my own before I contact a professional and spend a lot of money.

I went out to the desert several months ago to give a commercial customer an estimate for geothermal upgrades to the heating and AC system.

At the time, the customer did not want to have the work completed.

I didn’t hear from the guy for several months and I honestly forgot about the job. I assumed the person decided not to do the work or he found someone cheaper. I was surprised when the commercial customer called me to schedule all of the geothermal upgrades for the heating and AC system. I already had a commercial installation job scheduled and it was supposed to take 10 days. I decided to promote someone from my crew to a supervisor position. I took both of the commercial jobs at the same time. I knew the geothermal heating and AC upgrades would be extremely intricate and time-consuming, so I took a crew of six contractors with me to complete the work. I took three people from my regular crew and three people that I hired from an independent contracting service. I found a reliable and trustworthy person to lead the second team. The tenured employee named Jack has been with the company for a long time and he knows all of the ins and outs of the business. I knew he was the right guy for that job, but even I was surprised when he finished a day ahead of schedule. He should have taken six days to complete all of the HVAC work, but he finished late on the 5th day. Jack was really impressive. He worked hard and motivated the crew. He made the customer very happy.
