I knew Max was the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional, & I knew he was the part owner of the local Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company. My father had worked for Max for several years. It isn’t like anyone had forced me to be a Heating, Ventilation, & A/C pro, however I wanted to be one. Once I graduated from high school, I signed up for a series of Heating, Ventilation, & A/C repair classes at the local community school. I was excited to start the classes, however I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew dad periodically worked there as an instructor, although he hadn’t been saying anything to mom about it. I had previously spoken with dad about being a Heating, Ventilation, & A/C pro, & he told me it was my decision. It was my life, & if I wanted to be an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C pro, doctor, or burger flipper; it was my choice & not his. I appreciated my dad wanting me to follow my own road in life, however I wanted a little bit of guidance, & I was trying to find out if he knew who the AC instructor was. Dad was saying nothing. I guessed I had to wait until the class began. Two weeks later, I walked into class. I almost laughed out loud when Max walked into class & sat down on the desk. Max introduced himself as this year’s guest instructor, & he was going to be doing all the classroom instruction. My father was going to be handling the hands-on instruction. I started to wonder how I was going to get through the introductions separate from anyone knowing I was related to these two AC pros. I also wondered how many of my classmates would think I would get preferred treatment.
The repair tech was blowing a broken pet call.
My little brother Max is a real jerk.
Max thinks it’s fun to watch someone make a fool of themselves, then last week, the local Heating, Ventilation, & A/C pro was at the house working on our a/c unit.
Max took our old pet whistle outside & was playing with it. Max and I hadn’t had a pet since the last one died more than a year ago. Max wanted to see if the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C pro would use the pet whistle in an effort to see if he could repair it. I told Max to provide me the pet whistle, although he didn’t want to. Max told me he was going to play a trick on the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional. Max provided me with an unusual look & walked over to the tech. He told the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C pro his whistle was broken & wanted to know if he could repair it for him. The Heating, Ventilation, & A/C pro looked at my brother then over at me. He shrugged & looked at the whistle. I could tell he didn’t want the whistle in his mouth, although he handed it back to my brother. He told Max there was no fixing the whistle since he was an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C pro & not a whistle professional. Being the nine-year-old he was, Max pouted & tried pleading with the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C tech. The tech took a deep breath & then took the whistle. He provided it a long look before handing it back. I thought Max was going to drop over, when the tech told him you could not repair something that wasn’t broken. The tech said if the pet didn’t want to listen, there was no amount of blowing the dog whistle that was going to make it work.
I took the A/C repair van to the weigh station.
He asked me if I knew my driver’s license was expired? He also said that the registration for the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C repair van had also expired.
I had never known there to be an open weigh station on the stretch of highway I was riding. It startled me when I saw the sign that said all vans & trucks must go into the weigh station. I knew that it was really stupid for me to pull in, however I was obeying the law. When I got up on the truck scales, the police officer inside told me to pull over. I pulled away from the truck scales, expecting to get a ticket, however not knowing why for sure. He came up to the door & asked for my license & the registration to the repair van. I told him I was working for the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company & the repair van was registered to the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company I worked for. He nodded & said he knew that. He asked me if I knew my driver’s license was expired? He also said that the registration for the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C repair van had also expired. I thought he was kidding because he found it funny that I would pull a repair van into the weigh station unless I was there to labor on a broken truck. As far as I knew, I was heading to a house to labor on an a/c unit. He told me to replace my license & registration & make sure the new information was reported back to the address & cellphone number on the warning. I called my boss as soon as I got to the client house, & told him he needed to get the van registration taken care of on the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C repair vehicle because I had just acquired a warning.
The Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company owner will fire me for sure.
I am supposed to be a talented driver, if you look at my past driving record.
I am also supposed to be a talented Heating, Ventilation, & A/C expert, however when you destroy the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C repair van, you must expect to get fired.
I looked away from the road for about 10 or fifteen seconds, which is how long it took me to check the text from my wife Kim. I knew I shouldn’t have looked at it, however I thought there was a problem. My wife Kim never texts me unless it was an emergency, and when I realized it was just a butt text, I turned off the cellphone, however it was too late. I had already driven my repair van into the back of a garbage truck. I instantly called my boss & told him that the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C repair van was covered in garbage & told him where I was located, and he didn’t ask what happened, however was instantly heading out to the location. I jumped out of the repair van, & the garbage worker came running out of his truck! Before I could apologize, the dude was already apologizing. He told me he had stopped quickly, & he didn’t realize I was so close behind him. He asked if I was disfigured & then checked my Heating, Ventilation, & A/C repair van. I thought I was going to be fired for good & could never be a real Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional again, although he was even more upset. He owned this garbage truck. I could only laugh when he said he stopped quickly because his cellphone rang. I wasn’t quite sure who was to blame, however I wasn’t going to say a word about my text message.
