Didn’t know it was gas fireplace

This would be a dangerous situation normally, it it was a wood burning fireplace… but, I own a gas fireplace

I have some deep concerns over the youngsters growing up this week. From the limited experience I have with them, they are terrible. They do not look up from their cellphones for three straight seconds, plus they aren’t using that space-age tool to acquire any overpriced knowledge, that is for sure. I’m blown away time plus time again by all the typical sense things these idiots don’t know. For instance, I learned recently that my 16 year seasoned niece doesn’t know what taxes are. It’s not that she’s having trouble filing her own taxes, which is understandable – no, she literally didn’t know about taxes. Federal, state, or sales. I almost cried when my wonderful friend and I had that talk, plus so did she. Don’t even get me started on my 14 year seasoned nephew, though, because he’s even more clueless. The other afternoon he easily almost burnt down my house trying to increase the air temperature by a few degrees. How is this possible, you ask? Well, I left the little moron alone to go rent a Redbox motion picture yeahterday, plus in that time he decided the indoor air temperature was unsatisfactory, rather than decreasing the control unit, like a human would, he decided it was best to light up the fireplace. Isn’t this off to a excruciating start? Well so was his fire. Apparently he could not get the logs to light, so in his “freezing cold desperation,” he decided to dump lighter fluid all over the fireplace. This would be a dangerous situation normally, it it was a wood burning fireplace… but, I own a gas fireplace. This stupid child set fire to my fake plastic logs. The melted puddle of plastic plus lighter fluid was finally starting to heat up the house, right as I walked in the front door.

In laws turned down AC before leaving

I am one of those people who tends to freak out about privacy plus personal space, generally speaking.

I do not like people in my room, looking at my things, or moving any of my items around.

I have an issue with controlling my environment plus keeping everything exactly where I left it. That being said, I’m trying honestly hard to let go of some of these anxieties, especially considering how multiple house guests my wonderful friend and I have these afternoons. I hardly have any privacy whatsoever, with all the humans rotating through our home. I’ve managed to let go quite a bit, however every so often I’m reminded of my underlying concerns. For instance, last weekend when our in laws stayed over plus managed to break our boiler within 2 afternoons. My friend and I were out of town, however allowed them to use our house for the weekend. On their way out the door, they thought it would be kind to shut off the heating plus cooling system to reduce our energy usage while the house was vacant! Little did they know, they would do a lot of Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C detriment with their wonderful intentions. You see, they are accustomed to living in FL heat. When they arrived, it was going to be only 60 degrees outside, so I powered up the boiler to a low operating level for extra warmth to keep them comfortable. They clearly didn’t realize that the heat was running, interpreting the slightly freezing outdoor air as indoor AC. As such, as they left the house, the control unit was bumped up to 85 degrees in order to keep the a/c from cycling unnecessarily. Well, flash forward to our arrival property 5 afternoons later… The house was burning hot, humid, plus stagnant inside, plus our boiler was a smoldering, inoperable hunk of metal. Our energy bill was through the roof, plus my wonderful friend and I have to replace our central boiler. So much for saving us money.

Can’t download app to control thermostat

However, when my associate and I attempted to access the smart thermostat application, my associate and I realized that it wasn’t laboring either.

I’m so thrilled to exist in this stage of history. I can’t even imagine living in an earlier generation, where you couldn’t pull up your PC to ask a random medical question, track down your friends in real time with GPS, or check your weather conditions at dwelling from hundreds of miles away, then all of these advancements legitimately make life easier and so much more informative! However, there are some major disadvantages with how technologically connected our lives are these afternoons. It turns out that when one technology is highly reliant on another, it actually can bring the whole system down. This is exactly what happened last weekwhen a big storm blew through and disrupted our thermostat programming at home, and you see, my associate and I recently had a smart thermostat installed with our Heating and A/C program, and my associate and I didn’t exactly know how it operated yet. It was laboring fine, supplying us with fresh and cool air inside, despite the heavy, moderate and humid air outside. As this big storm blew through, my associate and I suffered a power outage and suddenly the AC stopped. As the power flickered back on, my associate and I realized that the new smart thermostat had gone offline; it was no longer connected to the dwelling wireless or the AC unit, however my associate and I decided that the only way to reconnect the temperature control panel with the air handling device was to use the app. However, when my associate and I attempted to access the smart thermostat application, my associate and I realized that it wasn’t laboring either. The storm had knocked down a cable line, leaving us without laboring wireless. My associate and I couldn’t access the app, locate a wireless signal, or connect our thermostat to the a/c manually. In the end, my associate and I were stranded without any indoor temperature control for three afternoons thanks to new technology.

Bad hotel heater

I’ve done a honorableamount of traveling in my life, not to brag or anything… By that I mean that my trips are not brag-worthy at all; Frankly, my travels are not the same ones you’ll see strewn across instagram and other social media outlets, heralded as life changing experiences, then i’m never lounging on some Italian beach or sipping cocktails on a private yacht in the Keys.

Instead, my traveling normally includes 8-12 hour car rides without any breaks which ultimately culminate in staying at discount hotels for a few days, if I’m blessed.

I have stayed in so, so many exhausting hotels at this point. I could practically write a book on what to expect from each roadside bargain hotel chain, then most recently, but, I stayed in a non-franchise hotel that had the worst Heating as well as Air Conditioning I’ve ever seen. I was shocked to find that this historical downtown institution was poorly equipped with a boiler that had to be at least 30 years old… When my friend and I first entered the little hotel room, I first noticed that the hot, dry air inside was basically blasting at full power, and as my friend and I opened the door a rush of tepid air came wooshing past, and I could hear the sound of an old forced air boiler chugging away at level 11. I went to the thermostat and found that it consisted of two dials; an inaccurate “temperature setting” dial, and a “speed” dial to modify the rate of air exhaustion, and these two controls were meant to operate the single overhead heating unit, which was basically a big hair dryer hanging from the ceiling. I’ve stayed in a lot of awful hotels, but this was unquestionably the worst air quality I’ve ever seen.
