HVAC Repair Tips for Homeowners

In school, I was always the star student.

Always the one with the highest grades, straight A’s.

It was always so easy for me too, half of the time I didn’t even need to study. My parents saw the potential and had me put in advanced classes, and even those classes I thrived in. My parents and teachers alike were impressed and told me that I was going to do great things in life. I am sure in their heads they were thinking something along the lines of a doctor or astronaut or something like that. However, I knew from the start that I was not interested in any of that. I wanted to live a nice and simple life. I am a minimalist, and I really don’t need much to keep me happy. So when I graduated high school and told my parents I was going to HVAC university, they weren’t exactly thrilled. None of my family wanted me to become a HVAC specialist, and they sure tried to pressure me to change my mind. But my mind was made up, I wanted a nice and easygoing life. Just because I am smart doesn’t mean that I am obligated to loan my brain to the world. Besides, being good in school doesn’t always mean success in life. Anyways, despite my parent’s protests, I went to HVAC university and graduated as a HVAC specialist. I have been working as a heating and A/C specialist for a while now, and I am truly happy. This is exactly what I wanted.

From a young age, I was always obsessed with music.

But not just any music, it was always music from one single band.

While I definitely enjoyed other music, it didn’t connect with me on the same level as songs from that band did. Have you ever found a band or a singer that has so many great songs, it seems like every song that they produce is a song you like? That is what I had with this band. In particular, I really liked the lead singer. I actually found out the guy started out as a heating and air conditioning technician, before becoming a rock star. This actually inspired me to become a HVAC specialist. Because even though I am not interested in fame and fortune, I think having something in common with my favorite artist is really cool. So when I graduated high school, I went to HVAC university. It was a really easy program and I was able to become a certified heating and air conditioning specialist in a year. That same year, I was hired by an A/C business and started working as an official HVAC serviceman. I briefly trained under a more advanced HVAC tech, but soon I was on my own working and repairing heating systems and A/C units. I really love and enjoy my job, even if it can be difficult at times as well as working really long hours. My job has great pay and it is fairly simple. I am really happy with my life choices.

I was sorting through my mail, and as I had already figured, most of it was trash.

• However, I was surprised to see that one of the letters was from the local cooling company.

This was strange, because I had never received a letter from them before. Curious, I opened it up and read the letter. They were informing me that they were no longer doing the HVAC service plan I signed up for. Unfortunately, the cooling corporation was going out of business and was going to be closed by next month. This was saddening to hear, but I was at the end of my HVAC service plan anyways, so I wasn’t too unhappy. To make up for the loss of the service plan, the A/C company gave a discount code on their website that I could use to buy some of their last remaining products. A lot of their products were on sale to begin with, and so I was able to buy a portable heater for a really cheap price. But now with my main HVAC company gone, I knew I was going to need to find another. I looked at other local A/C businesses, and there was another one pretty close by. I called them, and thankfully, they also had a service plan, and it was even slightly cheaper. So I guess this heating corporation will be my new main A/C business to rely on, and I already have the service plan from them as well. So in the end I am not really losing anything.

I heard our PC beginning ringing & I looked to see who was calling.

It was our cousin again, undoubtedly complaining about the south as usual.

That has become a bit of a routine, our cousin calling to complain about the heat. Not legitimately sure what to tell her, she is the a single who decided to move down there to begin with, despite our best efforts to warn her. But our cousin was always obsessed with the white sand beaches & sunny days & didn’t hear me. However, what she didn’t take into account was the fact that the south is often legitimately, legitimately hot. The same way that the north is often pretty cold. When I picked up the PC, sure enough, she started to tell me the latest incident. Apparently the cooling system, which was still fairly new, broke down today. She told me about how she had to call a Heating and A/C worker out to come & look at it & repair it. And then she was complaining about how the Heating and A/C system was awful, & didn’t keep her loft cool enough & it shouldn’t have broken down & so forth. I asked her some general Heating and A/C service questions to see how well she inspected the cooling unit, only to find out that she didn’t take care of it at all. No wonder it broke down so early. I tried to provide her some Heating and A/C tune up tips, however she wasn’t listening & continued to complain. Some people just can’t be helped.
