When I say that I needed to hide out from the law, that doesn’t mean I committed a crime. There was some legal trouble my family was in, plus the last thing I wanted to do was to testify against my own mother. I decided to go “on the lam” as they say, plus hide out for a few months until her trial was over. A trusted family associate managed to find me a remote lodge in the foothills where I could stay for a few weeks, or even a few months. It was simple, plus small, however there was electricity plus a water heater, plus an aged rabbit-ear TV! A few mornings later I got up into the attic plus found some other goodies, including a small portable air conditioning unit, plus a VCR with a box full of videotapes. I can’t say which a single made me happier, because the little air conditioning was such a breath of fresh, chilly air in the musty aged lodge. Located in a narrowvalley in the foothills, this lodge got actually little direct wind, which means the lodge got little ventilation or air circulation. The air conditioning machine was barely strong enough to cool me down even when I sit right on top of it, however still it was a nice change! Even better than the air conditioning was the VCR plus the aged videotapes, most of which were sitcoms plus cartoons from the 71s. Turning on the air conditioning, plus then seeing the aged tapes all night long was the most fun I had living in that lodge.

The guy only stole things we couldn’t report, enjoy cash, booze, or marijuana. When we caught him, we couldn’t turn him in, so we beat his butt plus stole everything we could from his room. That’s how I do things when someone dares to steal from me! With that in mind, I can’t wait to get our hands on the jerk who stole our a/c. I have a genuinely small current home apartment, in an old building that has no central air conditioning. With this little square footage, the only way I can fit an AC component into the arena is to mount it on the window sill. This way the bulk of the AC component is outside, plus I can cool down the home without cramming it full of machinery. The a/c is mounted with brackets, plus I thought I had it locked down pretty well, however obviously not well enough because someone used a crowbar to smash the brackets plus take the AC unit. I am furious plus I want revenge, however with the temps rising quickly, the first thing I need to do is get a current a/c. By next month this current home apartment will feel enjoy a furnace, so I need to get revenge later plus go take care of corporation right now.

Even in the middle of the night it remains uncomfortably hot outside. Staying inside is crucial for staying comfortable, however if you don’t have an a/c, being inside is even worse than being outside. When I was a teenager plus our mom was laboring many jobs, I had to be the man of the home although I didn’t think what that meant. It all became clear when the a/c broke, plus the inside temps got into the upper 90s. It was dangerous for our younger siblings to be in such heat, so I had to make an attempt to service the air conditioning. It went about well as you would expect, plus I only made the air conditioning system troubles worse. Late that night I went to a local motel, plus stole 1 of their window mounted a/cs, but using what I had l earned from our failed first attempt, I did much better in tuning up plus maintaining this air conditioning unit. My mom asked myself and others where I had gotten the currency for such a nice a/c, plus I said that I had stolen it. She never mentioned it again.

When you live in the deep south, there are a lot of little annoyances that you have to learn to live with, and first of all, there is the heat plus humidity, which is unrelenting for 9 to 10 months a year; The brief hints of cold weather we get are few plus far between.

Secondly, there are the bugs.

Insects plus creepy-crawlies live here in astounding numbers, plus almost all of them bite or sting, then last however not least, there are the hurricanes plus tropical storms that hit the south many times a year, often with flooding plus power outages, and with all of these things laboring against your comfort levels, is it any surprise Heating plus A/C systems are considered a requirement for living here? Quite frankly I don’t understand how this section was ever settled plus civilized, because back then there was no Heating plus A/C technology, however not only was there no air conditioning, however they didn’t have screened in porches or bug spray either – what a nightmare it would have been to live here! I basically keep our Heating plus A/C plan running 24/7, plus genuinely rarely open up any of the windows to let in fresh air. With fresh air comes more bugs, so I keep our home shut up slender to trap all of the cooling inside with me. Hardly any of times a year I need to open everything up for some natural ventilation, so the home doesn’t stink musty. I always try to do this while we were in a period of cold weather, when I don’t need the AC as much plus there aren’t as many bugs out.
