Time for a Two Hour Siesta with Music

I appreciate to take a nap with some quiet meditation music in the background to drown out the noise on the streets.

My street isn’t too loud but periodically you can hear a scooter or motorcycle buzz by.

This is why I appreciate to run our central Heating plus A/C plan too because it helps to silence the sounds from outside. I haven’t been sleeping so well lately so taking a nap in the middle of the day is necessary to help propel me through the rest of the evening. I will try to scrub our HEPA filter today because I looked at it Last month & it is caked with dust & I am sure a lot of that is getting into our lungs. I normally stay on top of the cleaning but without sleeping well the past few weeks I’ve been a bit on the lazy side. I labor each day for the local business doing Heating plus A/C unit cleaning & repairs & it is all I can do to labor there all day. Maybe I will just see if an Heating plus A/C tech at our labor would appreciate to come & scrub our Heating plus A/C plan for me. I don’t mind paying them to come do the labor for me when it needs to be done & when I am not feeling appreciate doing it myself. The HEPA filter in our component is a washable category & I have an extra 1 so it would be legitimately simple to swap out the dirty 1 with the scrub 1. I’ll get it done 1 way or another.

Nobody promised your HVAC training would be easy.

I thought that the hard part about being an HVAC technician was going to be taking the HVAC classes and passing the certification test.

I thought wrong.

When I started my apprenticeship at the HVAC company owned by my instructor, I figured I would just be going out on service runs. I didn’t consider that I would go on the service runs and do repairs while having another HVAC technician following behind. The worst part about having an HVAC technician following me around was that it wasn’t just any ordinary HVAC technician, but the owner of the company and the man who was my class instructor. I guess I was grumbling loud enough that he overheard me. He turned around laughing and told me that nobody promised my HVAC training would be easy. I wasn’t expecting easy, but I also wasn’t expecting to have my instructor/boss standing behind me the entire time I was working on HVAC systems for his customers. When I overheard him telling one of the other technicians that I was one of the brightest HVAC techs he had ever taught; I couldn’t wait to talk to him. I asked him, if I was one of the brightest HVAC techs, why did he feel it was necessary to shadow me? He told me because I only learned from books, and now he wanted to teach me the proper way to work on a real HVAC system in its actual setting. Until then, I had HVAC systems that had been set up to look like they were broken, and I was using textbook skills. He wanted me to use my knowledge of HVAC and instincts with real-time HVAC repairs.

Preventing snow and ice in the A/C device

For a long time, I would have a bunch of built up snow and ice around, on and even in the air conditioning unit.

  • This obviously has caused many issues and when I complained about the issue to the heating and air conditioning specialist on the last HVAC maintenance, he suggested looking into HVAC covers.

This was a great idea, and not long after he told me that I started looking into the heating and air conditioning covers. There were so many online, it was kind of hard to choose! I knew that ones made from mesh wouldn’t work, because the ice would just soak right through. So I ended up finding a water proof, breathable A/C cover that had over 1,000 reviews. Most of the reviews were positive, there was only one problem, they didn’t have the size I needed. I was incredibly disappointed, but I wasn’t done searching yet. I ended up going back to the original HVAC company I used, and asked if maybe they had one. I was in luck, because not only did they have the correct heating and air conditioning cover, but they also had the right size! I was able to bring it home that same day and place it over the heating system. I checked back on it a few days later, and there was no ice or snow on my HVAC device. It was then that I knew that the air conditioning unit cover worked well, and that my issues with snow and ice were problems of the past.
